We’re Alaska’s queer kink, Leather, and sex-positive community.
We teach consent, build connections, throw great events, and create spaces where people can learn, explore, and find their people.
We host everything from workshops and dinners to play parties and community gatherings, all leading to Northern Exposure, Alaska’s only queer sex education conference.
For more than 16 years, Northern Exposure has brought over 200 authors, educators, doctors, attorneys, therapists, researchers, activists, titleholders, and professional kink educators to Alaska to teach on topics ranging from:
• Consent and communication
• Relationships
• Sexuality
• Mental health
• Leather history
• Personal responsibility
• Self-discovery and personal growth
Real community. Real education. Real people.
Not the biggest. Just the realest.

Northern Exposure is Alaska’s queer kink, Leather, and sex-positive community hub and gathering place.
Since 2010, we’ve been bringing together queers, Leather people, kinksters, educators, curious newcomers, longtime community members, wallflowers, rebels, outliers, and people who never quite fit anywhere else.
Rooted in consent culture, we believe clear communication, mutual respect, personal agency, and enthusiastic consent are the foundation of healthy community, meaningful connection, and exploration.
The mission is simple:
Build real community, not just host events.
Community First.
We work hard to keep our events accessible.
Many of our gatherings are free.
Our conference is intentionally affordable, and scholarships are always available because we believe education, connection, and community should not be reserved for people with the biggest wallets.
We are known for creating spaces where people can show up as themselves, ask questions, learn, grow, and find their people.
